MONOLOGUE SELECTION AND COACHING
Since the beginning of 2021, I have read at least one play every week (Wanna read along? Head to @stephlavardera on insta!). I know…a lotta plays. I also have a database of all of these plays, with monologues and two character scenes categorized in a bunch of different ways, and I would love to help you select the perfect material for your audition, showcase, scene study, or whatever else you need a piece for!
From Oscar Wilde to David Henry Hwang, Lorraine Hansberry to Larissa FastHorse, I can point you in the direction of what you’re looking for. (And I usually also have a copy of the piece to send you!) All of my material selection packages include:

A zoom convo where we talk about what you’re looking for, and I can get a sense of who you are as a person and a performer. This is not one size fits all material. I’m going to take everything you tell me into consideration and find you material that you connect with, and reveals what you want to reveal about yourself.

At least 5 options for each piece you’re looking for, emailed to you within 48 hours after our zoom session. I will give you a general summary of each of the pieces, and break down why I think it’s a good fit for you.
I also offer coaching on audition material, whether that’s on material I select or something you’ve chosen yourself. Sessions can be in person in NYC or virtual.
I have many different packages available, whether you’re looking for just one new audition piece, or a whole host of new material and coaching on that material as well. I also offer discounts for current students. Reach out below for more info and to get started!

As a classically trained actor who spent my undergrad years at NYU studying at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, my particular strength as a coach and teacher lies in my ability give my students both the tools to meet the demands of classical texts, while also helping them connect their inner truth to the emotional life of the character. I am a voice, text and acting coach all in one, and am especially excited about helping actors decode and demystify Shakespeare.

Doubt that the sun doth move,
Doubt truth to be a liar,
But never doubt I love
